XM was a little science fiction in design and had a lot of the right technology, e.g. the hydraulic suspension, improved with hydractive and the DIRAVI steering on the top models, but in a version where there was 3.5 turns of the steering wheel from start to finish, as opposed to 1.5 on the CX and 0.9 on the SM.
The build quality and stability of the electrical system's many connections was so-so, but it was definitely a nice driving experience.
